I have always been interested in visual stimuli from all arenas and heirloom processes and techniques, so when I was introduced to calligraphy, the art, tradition and process immediately captured me. To me, spending the time to do something by hand (whether it be writing, knitting, sewing, quilting, etc) is always worth the effort. The reward is something one of a kind. Having a textile background, my passion for all things vintage and a love of fashion history, I draw from many varied sources to influence my work. I have traditional training in calligraphy but love to incorporate it into a more modern aesthetic and style. I love to experiment with tradition and play with color!

Graduating from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelors of Science in Retail Merchandising, my background is in product, event and floral styling. Before founding Amon Design Studio, I worked as a visual stylist for Neiman Marcus, Banana Republic and various stores and events around the Dallas metroplex area.
